Let’s enjoy it: the fine Italian cuisine will spoil us with its delicacies.
Each region has its own specialties that we don’t want to miss out on.
Variety and diversity - the sailing trips along the Italian coast are bursting with unique impressions, opportunities and experiences.
The sailing trip in Italy offers everything that makes the heart of sailing fans beat faster.
As multifaceted and diverse as Italy’s coastal regions are, they all have one thing in common: beautiful, extremely charming landscapes, cultural and historical highlights and sights as well as the ubiquitous culinary delights of southern Mediterranean cuisine with its regional specialties.
The sailing trips in this area start with a somewhat more challenging mile trip around the sole of the Italian boot to Sicily.
From there we explore the geologically interesting islands of the Lipari archipelago with its steaming vents, sulphur baths and the active volcano Stromboli.
As a natural beacon, it will show us the way to the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Naples – sailing spots that are among the most sought-after sailing destinations in the Mediterranean thanks to their gentle conditions, crystal-clear waters, world-famous islands and enchantingly picturesque coastal towns with their colorful, interlocking houses.
We reach the metropolis of Rome via the enchanting six Pontine Islands and then sail towards our last destination in Italy, the sunny island of Sardinia, in another challenging leg including a night sail.
This combination of both challenging and relaxed sailing, impressive nature and inspiring culture, experience, discovery and enjoyment will make your sailing vacation along the Italian coast an unforgettable overall experience for all the senses – both on the yacht and off the water.

What to expect and what you should know about your sailing trip on the Fair Lady
General Information
The sailing trips along the Italian south and west coast (below Tuscany) are generally suitable for all beginners interested in sailing as well as for advanced sailors of all ages. These can be individuals, senior citizens, couples, groups of friends, groups (e.g. from sailing schools and/or clubs) or families with children over the age of 16.
The sailing requirements of these trips are usually in the lower rather than the middle range.
Only the trips from Dubrovnik to Messina (01.06.
- 15.06. sailing trip Croatia) and from Rome to Olbia (06.07. - 13.07.) are somewhat more demanding due to their longer strokes and navigational requirements, which is why they are ideal as training and practice trips or as milestone trips.
In principle, participants are welcome to actively sail along at any time, but this is not a prerequisite.
We mainly sail with the yacht during the sailing trip in Italy near the coast.
As a rule, we only sail during the day in stages of 3 - 6 hours and in good conditions.
The only exception to this are the two co-sailing offers mentioned above, which each include a night trip and also cross the open sea.
At night, the yacht is anchored in a bay or at the jetty of a harbor or marina.
Depending on our mood, we either enjoy the delicious Italian cuisine in a typical restaurant or alternatively cook or barbecue on board in a beautiful bay.
In addition to the "vacation under sail" and the associated extremely high deceleration factor, the focus of these cruises is on experiencing the landscape and nature, swimming, snorkeling, relaxing, enjoying and - depending on the destination - interesting excursions and side trips to the volcanic islands of Vulcano and Stromboli, the picturesque Amalfi Coast, the beautiful islands in the Gulf of Naples, ancient sites such as Pompeii (UNESCO World Heritage Site) or a visit to the metropolises of Naples and Rome.
Event Details
The cruise offers are usually designed for 1 or 2-week cruises, from Saturday to Saturday.
On the day of arrival or shortly before, I will inform you of the Fair Lady's exact berth, where the yacht will be ready and freshly cleaned from 16 .
Take your time to move into your spacious cabin and settle in with a welcome drink on the sailing boat.
Until all the other sailors have arrived, we will do our first shopping and get to know each other over dinner before we start our sailing vacation the next morning after a briefing and set sail.
All other aspects of the trip (e.g. routes, spots / sights / restaurants to visit, mooring in the harbor or anchoring in the bay, etc.) are discussed and planned together, taking into account the current conditions.
I summarize the individual wishes and am happy to give tips on the respective destinations or contribute my own experience to ensure an all-round successful sailing trip for all participants.
The last day of the trip brings us close to our final destination and we end the sailing trip together in a nice restaurant before I ask you to vacate the cabin by 10 a.m. the next day.
Arrival
As all the sailing vacations on offer take place in the southern parts of Italy, it is advisable for the vast majority of sailors to arrive or depart by plane.
Using your own car only makes sense for a few exceptions, especially as most of the sailing trips offered in Italy are one-way trips that start in one place and end in another.
Ideally, it is advisable to book an open jaw flight.
There are various international airports along the entire Italian coast and on the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, which are served several times a week by a wide variety of destinations and airlines.
Departure
On the day of departure, we are already at the planned destination port and you can drive to the airport from there, or continue your vacation in Italy.
Relax on the Adriatic or take a look at Tuscany.
Perhaps you have booked another week on the Fair Lady and the yacht charter adventure continues for you.
The next sailing area is not far away, you can look forward to a sailing trip to Corsica or the Balearic Islands, for example.
